"EDITED ONLINER DIALOGS"

TOPIC HelpWare at Bcidot.org                                                                                                                            Date: June 2001

TOPICAL OVERVIEW:  More info as to Bcidot.org's HelpWare features include: An original  $50.00 is expected to offset Bcidot.org's operating costs. After that, the assisted Onliner gets a historical record of Jim Bramer's time spent on their assignment and both of us then live by faith as the Onliner determines the amount to pay us.

TO Bcidot.org:
What are your service rendered fee expectations? I've never been clear about that other than the initial $50.00 and then...???

TO Onliner:
You are not the first Onliner where this HELPWARE relationship was NOT "crystal clear." If you were me, how would you state all of this within our 0100-06 link below?

        http://www.bcidot.org/hlp/0100-06.html
The above 0100-06 is intended to clearly state:
  •   I spend as much time as needed to be of relevant help.
  •   The Onliner pays $50.00 to indicate that they mean business and to reimburse our direct costs.
  •   I keep a record of my time and can periodically share it with you Onliners with the assurance that:
  •   The Onliner ONLY PAYS US WHAT THEY CAN.
  • The Lord knows the needs of both of us and will provide.

TO Bcidot.org:
Re-reading your 0100-06 link contents did help me refresh my memory. You do spell it out 'crystal clear'. I did read it before and you are clear about the relationship. I guess I just feel guilty about taking advantage of your services; we appreciate your spirit.
I don't know that you can make it clearer. All I know is that from my perspective, it would be nice to have some 'recommended' rate so that we can put some value on your time. That might include reference to us having an item in our budget for such purposes.  Then, if we know when we have used a 'block' of your time (maybe every 10 hours) it would help us control our use/request of your time. This would help ensure that we are good stewards of your time.
Some of the questions I asked were on your site. I should have done some more digging before asking you the questions but I got lazy.
It all boils down to the fact that I do not want to abuse your services. If there was a recommended rate and if we could have estimated the time involvement, then I could have requested from our Leaders a sum of money to use on this up front. But again, this is just from my perspective and I may be way out in left field.
Thank you again for all your help.

TO Onliner:
DO NOT FEEL badly if the Ministry can not pay anything but the $50.00, the more important thing is that you and I continue to interact in the pursuit of you getting relevant help. See help matters to you within today's concurrent Email.

TO Bcidot.org:
Well, for now, please do not spend any more time on our stuff. We have something that mostly works and we will go from here.

As most of you know, we here at www.bcidot.org  dialog by email with Onliners regarding Ministry Finance (MinFin) matters.  Above are what we call "Edited Onliner Dialogs", or edited version of actual dialogs with some of you, but we have honored your privacy and not used your name or that of your Ministry. Our purpose is to make topical MinFin information available to any interested Ministry Finance Team so you can learn from one another.. Let us know if you would like to dialog on a Peer to Peer basis with the other Onliner involved and we will try to put you together.   Thanx - Jim Bramer  - Proverbs  9:10
